Less than three months to the European Parliament elections and one in two voters still remains undecided on their June 9th preference, as indicated in a poll conducted by Pulse Market Research for Phileleftheros. Indifferent party voter interest is reflected in the results, as major parties score much lower than previous European elections.

The opposition right wing Democratic Rally DISY and left wing AKEL have dropped below 20% with all other parties at single digits, as ELAM climbs to third and the government alliance Democratic Party drops down to fourth.

The Democratic Rally takes 17% of respondents, with AKEL slotting 2nd with 14%, ELAM ranking third at 8% and DIKO securing 7%. Socialist EDEK has shrunk to 3 percent according to the poll, (compared to 4.4%) with the Greens scoring 2% and government alliance DIPA at a mere 0.3% in comparison to the previous 6%.

More than a third are undecided and 9% declared their intention to abstain.

In 2021, DISY had secured almost 28%, which means that poll results show a ten percent drop, with party voter interest at 48. The party’s issue seems to be on the right side of the party, as one in 10 DISY voters has declared their intention to vote for ELAM candidates.

AKEL’s major problem is the undecided vote and this is considered to be the main reason why it’s percentage has dropped much lower than the 22.3% of the previous election.

ELAM is the only party going up, from 6.78% to 8 percent, with the rest of the smaller political groups shrinking significantly.
