Cyprus beer consumption at 57 liters per capita

Beer stands as one of the most beloved alcoholic beverages globally, with substantial daily consumption, especially in Europe.

According to data from the World Health Organization (WHO), cited by Landgeist, Cypriots consumes an average of 57 liters per capita annually. However, leading the charts in this particular category is the Czech Republic, where each resident consumes an impressive 135 liters of beer yearly.

Following the Czechs, other Central European countries also exhibit a penchant for beer. Austria secures the second position with 126 liters per capita annually, while Poland takes the third spot with 114 liters. Germany follows closely in the fourth place with 111 liters, and Romania, as the fifth and the highest-consuming country outside Central Europe, records 107 liters.

Countries with beer consumption below the 100-liter mark include Latvia and Ireland, each with 98 liters, along with Croatia at 95 liters. Spain also ranks among the top beer-consuming nations, claiming the ninth spot with an average of 93 liters.

Although Greece displays an appreciation for beer, it falls relatively low on the list, ranking among the countries with the lowest beer consumption per capita annually, with just 43 liters. Italy shares a similar position with 40 liters, while France and Portugal record 50 and 52 liters, respectively. Turkey holds the title for the lowest beer consumption per capita, with a mere 13 liters annually, followed by Moldova with 31 liters and Albania with 35 liters.
