In an effort to promote sustainable transportation and encourage a healthier and more eco-friendly lifestyle for residents and visitors, the Municipality of Paphos has entered into a contract for a bike rental network.
The agreement was signed on November 20 at the Paphos Municipal Hall between the Municipality of Paphos as the contracting authority and the contractor company Nextbike Cy Limited.
According to the announcement, the contract involves the provision of services for licensing bike rental spaces at various points within the municipality.
The objective is to enhance sustainable urban mobility and offer an alternative means of transportation.
The agreement covers the management of six locations in the wider area of Kato Paphos and five locations in the broader city center of Paphos
Additionally, the announcement adds that the contractor has the option to propose up to two additional rental locations in these areas, with the specific locations to be agreed upon at a later stage.
Signing the contract on behalf of the Municipality of Paphos was Mayor Phedonas Phedonos, and representing the contracting company was Director Neofytos Ioannou.
This initiative aligns with the global trend of fostering environmentally friendly urban mobility solutions and contributes to the broader efforts in Cyprus to enhance sustainable living practices.
