In new statements made on Sunday morning, after the Mass at the Apostle Philip Church in Latsia, Archbishop Georgios called for an end to the leaks in connection with the scandal of the Holy Monastery of St. Habakkuk.
Because these days, he stressed, there is unrest among the faithful, I would like to appeal to everyone to stop the leaks, not only from the monks but also from other places.
My will and that of the Holy Synod, he added, among other things, is to fully investigate everything that has to do with the Holy Monastery of St. Habakkuk and with other monasteries and with other dioceses and with the whole of Cyprus and with the Church of Cyprus. These phenomena do not honor any Orthodox Christian.
Archbishop Georgios stressed that everything should be fully clarified so that the Church can proceed with its spiritual work unhindered.
“Let justice, both ecclesiastical and state justice, do its work.
We will go all the way.”
