Poland emerges as key market for Cypriot tourism

Relevant News

The Cyprus Tourism Development and Promotion Company of Famagusta, along with hotels in the region, represented the province at the Roadshow organised by the Deputy Ministry of Tourism from 8-10 April 2024, in Warsaw, Krakow, and Katowice.

During the meetings in Poland, the Famagusta Tourism Development and Promotion Company (ETAP) conducted a series of contacts with leading travel organisers operating in the Polish market.

This was an effort to promote, inform, and promote the tourist product of the region, aiming to further strengthen the trend observed in recent years for an increased influx of tourists from various cities in Poland.

Through these contacts, there was an evident intention to strengthen existing collaborations, a particularly encouraging element for the tourism sector in the region, as well as in Cyprus more broadly.

Poland is an important market with significant prospects both in terms of tourism during the summer months and in special forms of tourism throughout the year.

At the core of the discussions were the services and experiences offered by the Famagusta region to its visitors, with optimism recorded that arrivals from Poland in 2024 will exceed those of the previous year.

Positively noted was the increased interest from travel organisers concerning the Famagusta region, both in terms of special forms of tourism and mass tourism for the summer months.

In statements, the operator of ETAP Famagusta, Georgios Kafkalias, emphasised the prospect of the Polish market becoming consistently one of the most important for Cypriot tourism, and specifically for tourism in the Famagusta region.

As he mentioned, such a trend was already evident from last year and needs to be strengthened.

“The connectivity between Larnaca Airport and several destinations in Poland with direct flights is a crucial factor for further investment in the Polish market,” he said.

According to Kafkalias, one of the significant elements highlighted during the meetings was the intention expressed by travel organisers to utilise the region as an attractive destination throughout the year, creating new momentum.

The presence of ETAP Famagusta at the workshops-presentations in Poland falls within the framework of actions agreed upon by all members of ETAP for 2024.

They are an integral part of the new communication and promotion strategy in international markets as formulated for the current year.
