There has been a significant increase in air traffic at Paphos Airport since early March, with officials of the managing company of Cypriot airports noting that this increase will be much greater from April onwards, indicating a summer of significant air traffic for Paphos.
The rise in traffic follows the satisfactory winter activity of the Republic’s second airport, with a total of 115 flights landing in Paphos from 40 airports across various European cities per week, continuing the enormous growth recorded by Paphos Airport over the last three years.
The flagship of the ongoing increased flight program from Paphos continues to be the economic giant of Ryanair, which has bolstered its program to and from Paphos with flights from airports in Poland, Austria, France, the United Kingdom, and Baltic countries since early March, with daily flights to and from Athens in the near future.
Particularly encouraging, according to provincial authorities, is the fact that Paphos remains connected year-round to significant airports in the United Kingdom, Germany, Austria, Poland, and other European countries. There is a need for further strengthening of flights from German and Scandinavian airports.
The continuous increase in connectivity is of exceptional strategic importance for Paphos and Cyprus in general, according to Paphos provincial factors, as the enhanced programs are expected to provide significant impetus to the economy and further development of various tourism sectors with the aim of a full recovery of the industry.
