Construction material prices in March climbed on a four-year high, according to data released today by the Cyprus Statistical Service (Cystat).
The construction material prices index for March 2019 reached to 101.48 units marking a marginal increase of 0.06% compared with the previous month. This was the highest level since February 2015.
Compared with March 2019, the index rose by 1.5%.
For the period of January – March the index rose by 1.56% compared with the respective period of 2018.
The materials with the highest annual contribution were the category of products of woods, insulation materials chemicals and plastics which rose by 2.18% year on year. Metallic products rose by an annual 1.73% while Minerals climbed by 1.71%.
Electromechanical products decline by 1.22%, Cystat added.
