Relevant News

The Deputy Ministry of Shipping will be joining forces with the Ministry of Energy, Commerce and Industry to participate in the upcoming “Sea Japan” international shipping exhibition.

Held biennially in Tokyo, Japan, Sea Japan is recognised as one of Asia’s premier maritime events.

This year marks the exhibition’s 30th anniversary, and organisers anticipate it to be the largest edition yet, featuring over 600 exhibitors from 30 countries and attracting more than 20,000 visitors.

Cyprus will be featured at the event, with a shared exhibition stand between the Deputy Ministry of Shipping and the Energy Ministry. Throughout the exhibition, a delegation from the Deputy Ministry will be on hand to inform attendees about the benefits of Cypriot shipping, including:

  • Advantages of registering vessels under the Cypriot flag
  • Details concerning the Cypriot tonnage tax system
  • An overview of the services offered by the Deputy Ministry

In addition to Sea Japan, Cyprus will also be represented at the Cypriot Business Forum, scheduled for April 9, 2024.

Organised by the Energy Ministry in collaboration with the Cyprus Chamber of Commerce and Industry and the Embassy of Cyprus in Tokyo, the forum serves to spotlight Cyprus as an attractive business destination in shipping, technology, and other sectors.
