Property sales up 31% Jan-May 2018

Property sales rose an annual 31%  in the first five months of 2018 according to figures released by the Land and Surveys department. They showed the number of sales contracts submitted to the department up to 3612 from 2767 in the same period in 2017.

Famagusta recorded strong growth, soaring by a yearly 84% to 271 sales contracts for the five month period while Nicosia saw a 51% rise, with the total number standing at 638 compared to 422 in the first five months of 2017. Paphos recorded a 29% growth (857 from 664), Limassol a 28% rise (1323 from 1031) while Larnaca edged up 4% (523 from 503).

In May, the number of sales contracts submitted to the Land and Surveys Department rose 10% to total 828 from 756 in May 2017.
