Last week, a very important discussion took place in the Parliamentary Committee on Human Rights concerning the issue of parental alienation, where the significant problems were essentially highlighted.
These are children and parents who have been unable to see each other for years, with the state being weak and unable to intervene.
“What everyone needs to understand is that parental alienation is child abuse, which is exploited and becomes part of the conflict between parents in divorce cases. The competent authorities of the state, unfortunately, fail to protect the children in these instances,” stated the Committee’s President, I. Charalambidou.
This is a very serious issue, which is beginning to take on dimensions due to the increase in divorces and should be a matter of serious concern for both the state and all organised bodies.
Especially for some sensitive individuals organising protest events “in favour of the institution of the traditional family”, but for such a serious issue, they remain indifferent…
