Credit to the Tax Department

Relevant News

Despite the findings of the Audit Service in its report on the Tax Department, a few days ago, members of the Parliamentary Control Committee commended the good work being done in relation to the increase in state revenues and tax clearances.

Specifically, last year, the Department collected an additional €700 million, reaching total revenues of €6.7 billion.

Additionally, in 2022, tax revenues were budgeted at €1.9 billion, and they were eventually collected €2.8 billion, which is €900 million more.

It is worth noting that €2.2 million in tax clearances were made by 2021 for legal entities and by 2022 for individuals.

The good work being done at the Department is evident from the results. If the Department is staffed with additional personnel and given even more tools, it can become even more flexible and effective.
