The Fire Service has changed its approach regarding building inspections.
Following the chief fire officer’s instructions, buildings without construction permits will not be inspected.
Until recently, the Fire Service would inspect any building summoned by municipalities or others and would express its views regardless of whether they had a construction permit or not.
In this way, local authorities would ask the property owner to take all necessary actions to comply with fire safety guidelines.
Now, no building without a permit will be inspected. It remains uncertain whether this will contribute to making buildings safer or not.
