Special guest NASA Astronaut Dr Anna Fisher, Ret. is coming to Cyprus for a Celebration of the 50th Anniversary of the Apollo 11 Moon Landing that captured the world’s attention and inspired humankind. This special event will be held at the Nicosia Municipal theatre Dec. 5 at 7:00 p.m.
During her career at NASA, Dr Fisher flew on a NASA’s Space Shuttle Discovery flight and worked on the Space Shuttle Program, the International Space Station, and the Orion capsule that is in being developed for NASA’s future Space Launch System that that will bring in a new era of space exploration.
She was a member of NASA’s first astronaut class to include women and the first mother in space. And you may recognize her – her iconic image taken by photographer John Bryson has inspired imagery in movies like Aliens, has been used by modern musical acts and even appeared in the music videos of Kate Bush’s “Rocket Man.” We are thrilled to bring such an inspiring speaker to Cyprus for this event.
The event will be conducted in the English language.
The event is produced by The Cyprus Space Exploration Organisation (CSEO) in cooperation with the U.S. Embassy in Cyprus.
