Cyprus is the fourth most popular tourist destination among Russians this summer according to a survey carried out by the new agency Ria Novosti — up two places from sixth last year.
Russia topped the list, followed by Turkey — which recorded a 42% rise in Russian bookings this year — and Greece.
Countries which do not require a prior visa saw a general increase, it said.
The survey showed prices up in most destinations compared to the previous year — Armenia was up 62%, the UAE 53% and the Czech republic 46%. Holidays within Russia recorded a 19% price rise.
Cyprus was among the exceptions (-1%), as was Turkey (-2%), Greece (-4%), Bulgaria (-8%) and China (-25%).
The survey showed 30% of tourists chose all inclusive holidays.
Three star hotels were the most popular, accounting for 39% of holidaymakers.
