Showers and possible thunderstorms today, lower temperatures from tomorrow

A low pressure system centered on the Aegean is moving slowly east bringing unsettled weather with showers and snow in the mountains while temperatures from tomorrow will drop below the seasonal average.

Thursday will be cloudy at intervals with local rain, isolated thunderstorms as well as snow or sleet in the higher Troodos peaks. There will also be dust in the atmosphere but this will clear from midday.

Temperatures will rise to 18 C inland and on the coast and around 7 C in the higher mountains.

Tonight will be partly cloudy with local rains and/or thunderstorms. Snow will fall in the higher Troodos peaks at intervals. Temperatures will fall to 10 C inland, 12 C on the coasts and 3 C in the mountains.

Friday will remain partly cloudy with local rain and/or thunderstorms and the possibility of hail. In the higher Troodos peaks there will be snow at intervals. Temperatures will drop to considerably below the seasonal average.

On Saturday, increased cloud will lead to isolated showers and locally snow in the mountains. On Saturday and Sunday night there will be frost in the mountains and semi mountainous areas and locally inland.

Temperatures over the three days will be considerably below the average for the time if year.

Sunday will be partly cloudy and cold and at night there will be frost in the mountains, the semi-mountainous areas and locally inland and there may even be frost on the coast.
