Within the framework of the prevention of road accidents, combating the phenomenon of public nuisances, and establishing the feeling of road safety, members of the “Z” team of the Limassol Traffic Police and of the Special Motorcycle Squadron as well as other members of the Police, on Wednesday carried out traffic controls in various areas of Limassol, mainly at the coast front of the town and in main streets, where in the past fatal accidents had occurred.
During the checks, 17 vehicles and seven motorcycles were confiscated and nine people driving on main roads on scooters were charged.
Furthermore, 35 trucks have been checked and 12 drivers have been charged with various offenses, within the framework of Roadpol’s Truck and Bus inspection campaign.
The targeted police checks continue on a daily basis all over Cyprus.
