Police fined 44 citizens and four establishments all across Cyprus over the past 24 hours for breach of measures aiming to curb the spread of the coronavirus.
A total of 5,946 inspections were carried out, according to police.
In Nicosia, out of 1,647 checks five citizens and one establishment were booked, while in Limassol 1,345 checks led to 21 citizens getting a fine.
In Larnaca, 521 inspections saw 10 citizens getting a fine and police in Paphos reported three citizens and three establishments after carrying out 795 checks.
In Famagusta, one citizen was fined after 632 checks and in Morphou area police carried out 513 checks without reporting anyone.
Moreover, the Traffic Department conducted 368 checks and booked four citizens while the Port and Marine Police issued no fines after 125 inspections.
