Police issue 25 fines in 24 hours for breach of Covid measures

Police reported 22 individuals and three shop owners all across Cyprus over the past 24 hours for violating measures to contain the spread of the coronavirus.

This is what police told CNA adding that they had carried out a total of 3,351 checks.

In Nicosia, they carried out 1,682 checks reporting 6 individuals and 3 shop owners and in Limassol 166 checks led to 5 individuals  getting fines.

In Larnaca, 537 checks were carried out with no fines issued, in Pafos 2 individuals were booked after 82 checks, and in Famagusta 541 checks were carried out with 9 individuals getting booked.

In Morphou, 120 checks were carried out with no fines issued while Marine and Port Police carried out 38 checks and fined no one.

On Thursday, the government announced the measures aiming to contain the virus spread will remain in force until December 2.
