Two patients with suspect symptoms of Covid-19 are currently being treated at Paphos General Hospital, according to the hospital’s Covid scientific director Iosif Moutiris.
The two cases are at the suspect cases ward. Two were released yesterday following their 2nd negative coronavirus test.
18 patients were examined at the hospital’s emergency ward, with 7 referred to private clinics in the city.
Moutiris said that everything was in place for the reopening of the hospital’s outpatients clinic tomorrow, with all the additional protective measures being taken in the specialist clinics, such as gloves, masks and antiseptics.
The treatment wards are ready, he added, and will operate as soon as the Health Ministry gives the go ahead.
Currently operating at the hospital, which has seen repeated outbreaks of covid-19 over the past month, are the Thalassemia and Blood Dialysis Unit, Radiology, urgent surgery and the new short term treatment and suspect cases wards.
