Fire fighters have managed to contain a fire near the village of Apsiou as police investigate the cause.
The fire broke out around 10 am on Thursday and was under control around 4.30 pm having burnt six hectares of vegetation.
About 80 fire fighters with 20 fire trucks, three diggers and two tankers were used while seven water dropping aircraft assisted from the air to fight the blaze in difficult terrain.
