Kleanthis Nicolaides, director of the Meteorological Department in Cyprus, said that the dust in Cyprus came to stay.
He also said that during half of April the levels of dust were above normal, while the current phenomenon will start receding as of Sunday, due to light showers.
In recent years, dust levels are more frequent in Cyprus noting that the dust is coming from North Africa, mainly due to low-pressure systems.
