Cyprus set to launch biggest ever digital campaign to win back lost tourists

Relevant News

Cyprus is getting ready to splash out on its biggest ever digital campaign to win back lost tourists, Philenews reported on Friday citing Deputy Minister for Tourism Savvas Perdios.

The budget will be substantially higher as it turns to online solutions to launch its biggest online campaign for Cyprus tourism to regain its allure as a holiday destination, Perdios also said.

Due to the pandemic the travel industry is at a standstill but the Deputy Ministry’s half a million euro allocated expenditure on digital marketing is expected to shake it up.

Perdios also said their goal is for Cyprus to be promoted digitally throughout the year and, therefore, the budget for this will increase to five million euro in 2022. This year’s budget for digital marketing was about €3 million.

He believes the holiday Mediterranean island’s visibility in winter is of utmost importance in order to continue the summer’s upward trend in tourism.
