Coronavirus: Ministry of Transport issues instructions for transport companies

The Ministry of Transport issued on Friday instructions for bus and taxi companies outlining preventive measures for Coronavirus.

The measures concern all companies conducting transports on the ground, including tourist buses transferring passengers to/from airports, local and inter-city taxis and buses conducting excursions for schools.

INSTRUCTIONS FOR THE VEHICLE:

-Disinfection using the specialist method that lasts 14 days and placing the relevant disinfection certificate inside the vehicle

-Daily and frequent disinfection of handles, handrails, bells, metal surfaces on the seats, seatbelts etc.

-General cleaning at the end of each day

-Installation of hand sanitiser inside the vehicle with obligatory use by drivers and passengers

-Install at a visible spot the Ministry of Health’s instructions on Coronavirus – Covid 19

-Keep air conditioning closed

-Keep windows open during the journey and closed during the general cleaning

INSTRUCTIONS FOR THE DRIVER:

-Wear gloves

-Be in a position to respond in case a passenger presents symptoms of the Coronavirus

-Maintain their vehicle clean

-Be cautious with their personal hygiene

INSTRUCTIONS FOR THE BUSINESS:

-Develop a policy for handling suspect incidents

-Keep drivers up to date with the Health Ministry’s latest instructions as regards travellers arriving from abroad

-Issue instructions for their drivers and employees on measures that need to be followed by all employees in relation to the Coronavirus pandemic

-Issue instructions to all employees on measures to be taken in case they present Coronavirus symptoms
