Woman arrested over break-ins and theft from churches, hospital, home

Police on Sunday arrested a 32-year-old woman who has allegedly admitted she broke in and stole money and other items from a number of churches, a hospital and a residence in Nicosia district.

She has allegedly confessed to a total of seven break-ins in recent months, the latest one on September 16 when she stole items from a residence in Lakatamia suburb.

The suspect has allegedly also confessed to committing the theft of money from three churches on four different dates between July and September.

And to the burglary last July of another church, from which, however, nothing seems to have been stolen.

As well as to the damage last August to a number of individual hospital nurses’ lockers from which a wallet containing the identity card of an employee of the hospital was stolen.

Investigations by the Nicosia CID, in cooperation with the police stations of Lakatamia, Pera Chorio Nissou, and Latsia are ongoing.
