Pharmaceutical services seek police investigation into authenticity of degrees

Relevant News

The Pharmaceutical Services of the Ministry of Health have officially referred to the police following the results of a preliminary examination they conducted regarding the authenticity of degrees presented by pharmacists during the process of obtaining their professional licenses.

The Pharmaceutical Services have informed the Chief of Police in a letter, requesting an investigation into the case.

Meanwhile, the pharmacist involved in the initial complaint received by the Ministry of Health has already been removed from the pharmacy where they worked until the investigation is completed.

The individual in question maintains that they can prove their legitimate completion of the specific course of studies at the university in question.

The Ministry of Health had received a complaint concerning a pharmacist whose pharmaceutical degree was allegedly not genuine.

The Pharmaceutical Services subsequently contacted the university, which is based in an EU country, seeking information.

The university responded that the particular individual was not a student there. Therefore, the Ministry of Health has referred the case to the police.

In the meantime, information regarding the degrees of other pharmacists, who are also alleged to have studied at universities in the same European country, has reached the Pharmaceutical Services.

The investigation has been expanded accordingly. The Ministry of Health is currently awaiting responses from the universities regarding the authenticity of these additional degrees, a process expected to be completed by Friday.
