Massive election tampering – 20,890 citizens “changed” address

Relevant News

Suspicions that something was wrong with the electoral lists and the many requests for voter relocations seem to be confirmed. The objections were massive and almost half of them were accepted by the provincial administrations.

The Ministry of Interior has asked the Prefects to record all cases and forward them to the Attorney General for further investigation, and if a case is established, those involved will face criminal charges.

This emerges from yesterday’s presentation of statistics done by the Secretary General of the Ministry of Interior Dr. Elikkos Ilias. It is possible that these objections were organized by political parties, with the Secretary General of the Ministry of Interior stating that there are indications of this, however, he indicated that the Police investigation into the case must be completed.

It should, of course, be noted that the relocation requests are also suspected to have been orchestrated by some candidates.

It should be clarified that if a case is brought to justice and convicted, the law provides for penalties of up to six months in prison or a 1000 euro fine or both penalties together.

The Secretary General of the Ministry of Interior, presented the data about the objections submitted to the electoral rolls, stating that 41% of the objections submitted were approved. It was noted that a total of 3,560 objections were submitted, of which 1,461 were approved and 2,099 (59%) were rejected.
