Lifeguards in Cyprus to strike for two hours on Monday

Relevant News

Lifeguards all across Cyprus beaches will strike on Monday between 10am and 12pm to protest the absence of “permanent and stable work positions”.

A Cyprus Equality Union announcement on Friday also said that  “the illegal practice of terminating the indefinite contracts and renewing them every year, as detailed in our recent letter to the Ministry of Interior, should come to an end”.

The Union also demands the appointment of a Lifeguard Supervisor and the removal of existing unqualified individuals from positions of responsibility.

The union urged all lifeguards to participate in the work stoppage on Monday.
