Art pieces donated to University of Cyprus

Relevant News

The Cultural Organization ‘Avantgarde’ and the Kyriakides Piano Gallery donate two iconic works by British artist Tim Vincent-Smith to the University of Cyprus.

These works, “The Piano Cube” and “Floating Pianos,” were created through creative upcycling, using pianos whose service life as musical instruments had expired.

Instead of disposing of them, Kyriakides Piano Gallery and the Cultural Organization Avantgarde decided to offer them in this form, as sculptures, to the University of Cyprus.

Specifically, the works will adorn the Siakolas Educational Center of Clinical Medicine.

The goal of the University and the donors wish to contribute to the development of culture and the arts in Cyprus, making the University of Cyprus a center for the promotion and development of culture, arts, and creativity.

A special ceremony for the donation of the works will take place next Thursday, February 8th, at 12:30 p.m. at the location where the two works have been placed.

During the ceremony, greetings will be addressed by the Rector of the University of Cyprus, Tasos Christofides, and the President of the Cultural Organization Avantgarde, Stavros Kyriakides.
