A fire that broke out in the early hours of Sunday at the Afipskiy oil refinery in Russia’s Krasnodar Region was quickly extinguished, regional emergency response security authorities said, following social media reports of powerful explosions at the refinery.
“There were no casualties, no damage to infrastructure, and no threat to business or residents of nearby settlements,” the emergency response authority of Krasnodar Region, on the Black Sea coast, said in a post on the Telegram messaging app, without providing any information as to the cause of the fire.
This refinery is considered one of the most important Russian oil export gateways
