President announces increase in low pensioners Easter allowance

Relevant News

The President of the Republic, who chaired today’s meeting of the Council of Ministers, announced an increase in the Easter allowance for low pensioners.

At the beginning of the meeting, the President of the Republic, addressing the members of the Council of Ministers, said, “Today, among the issues we have, it is very important to see where we stand regarding the Recovery and Resilience Plan. We have submitted the relevant payment request for the second and third instalments of the grant, but I want to see where the remaining milestones are because there should be no delay in this matter.

The second important issue, following the announcements we made regarding measures against inflation on March 28th, is the decision we will make about the Easter allowance for low pensioners. Indeed, it will be increased from 190 to 250 euros, something very significant for almost 14 thousand low pensioners.”

Also, as he said, “next Monday afternoon, we have a Council of Ministers meeting regarding the actions I announced on January 29th. I want you to be well-prepared to see where the implementation stage is. It is very important to see which actions have been implemented, at what stage of implementation the remaining ones are, so that we run where we need to run more.

We presented our priorities because we want to strengthen accountability. Within the framework of accountability for what we promised to the people, we must proceed. So, I want you to come well-prepared – those who will be absent should send relevant notes – to make the presentation regarding your responsibilities. That’s why the meeting will be held in the afternoon, so there is time for everyone to present where we stand. Today, we have several items on the agenda.”
