An event is taking place in Hamburg today in support of Kurdish activist Kenan Ayaz, who is on trial for terrorism and who was handed over to Germany by the Cypriot government after living in Cyprus for ten years with political asylum.
His defense attorney, Efstathios Efstathiou, MP Kostis Efstathiou and our own journalist Alekos Michaelides will speak at the event.
The event is titled “At Erdogan’s request” and refers to the Turkish-orchestrated persecution of both Kenan Ayaz and other Kurdish fighters across Europe and in Germany in particular.
The Cypriot government, however, did not sweat its ear about the Turkish orchestration and handed over Kenan Ayaz (since last June), without any proof of terrorist activity (only that he made speeches for the freedom of the Kurds!). Since then, it has rubbed its hands and forgotten that it is the Republic of Cyprus that considered itself to be in danger at the hands of Ernogan and offered him political protection for ten whole years.
