People over the age of 30 can get the fourth dose or second booster shot of vaccination against Covid-19 as of Monday, the island’s health authorities have announced.
The second booster shot is not mandatory but recommended, Philenews reports.
It will also be administered to those who live or work in nursing homes and other closed structures. As well as to health professionals, pregnant women and those who belong to vulnerable groups of society.
Health experts have clarified that the booster shots do not catch the Omicron sub-variants but they do protect against severe coronavirus disease.
Moreover, the vaccines against the flu will be available in Cyprus within days, the Health Ministry also announced.
Specifically, 170,000 vaccines against the seasonal flu are to reach Cyprus with the first batch arriving imminently.
