A group of Syrian nationals were left regretting a decision to play football during the lockdown in Ayios Tychonas, Limassol after they were spotted by police and fined €300 each for breaking the decree.
After a tip off, police went to the area where they found 21 Syrian nationals aged 20 to 35 playing football. All were fined.
Moreover, from 6 am to 5.30 pm on Tuesday, Limassol police carried out 3934 checks and booked 17 drivers and 29 pedestrians for breaking the decree restricting movement except with permission.
