The Deputy Attorney General has announced the filing of a petition to the Supreme Constitutional Court for the dismissal of the Auditor General, the Audit Office said in a statement.
In the statement, the Audit Office referred to a plan by the Attorney General and Deputy Attorney General to eliminate Odysseas Michaelides.
According to the Audit Office, “the Attorney General’s intention manifestly constitutes retaliation for the fact that the Auditor General dared to highlight the action of the Assistant Attorney General to exempt from prosecution his former client and current client of his former law firm, in which his wife continues to work.”
