Critical condition for teen after Ayia Napa collision

A 17-year-old resident of Paralimni is in a very critical condition and is being treated at Nicosia General Hospital after sustaining injuries in a road collision that occurred last night in Ayia Napa.

From the collision, an 18-year-old was also injured and is being treated at a private clinic in Famagusta province.

The road collision occurred around 10:30 pm last night on Kavo Greko Avenue in Ayia Napa.

Both young men were riding motorcycles, driven by the 18-year-old. Under circumstances being investigated by the police, the driver lost control of the motorcycle, causing it to overturn and injuring both passengers.

The 18-year-old was transported to a private clinic in Famagusta province, where he was admitted for care after being diagnosed with rib fractures and abrasions on various parts of his body.

The 17-year-old was initially taken to Famagusta General Hospital, where it was determined he suffered a cranial-cerebral injury.

Due to his health condition, he was intubated and transferred to Nicosia General Hospital, where he is currently being treated. His health condition is described by treating physicians as extremely critical.

The Ayia Napa Police Station is investigating the causes of the collision.
