Firefighters in Nicosia contained a blaze involving dry grass and stubble near the GSP stadium on Saturday.
Fire service spokesperson Andreas Kettis reported two separate ignition points for the fire.
He said that two fire engines with a crew of six firefighters were dispatched to extinguish the flames.
The GSP stadium is preparing to host the title decider for this year’s Cypriot football championship between hosts APOEL and travelling AEK Larnaca.
The two teams enter the final match of the season, tied at the top of the league table.
The game will start at 7 p.m., local time.
