Silia Kapsis, representing Cyprus, managed to secure her ticket to the grand final following her performance in the first semi-final of the 68th Eurovision Song Contest held on Tuesday night.

The 17-year-old singer was applauded as she took the stage at the Malmo Arena, and everything went smoothly with her act, garnering positive votes from Europe to advance and grace the Eurovision stage once again.

Ten countries succeeded in clinching the coveted ticket to the final on Saturday, May 11.

The countries that made it through are: Serbia, Portugal, Slovenia, Ukraine, Lithuania, Finland, Cyprus, Croatia, Ireland, and Luxembourg.

In an interview with TV Mania magazine and Aphrodite Georgiou, Silia Kapsis responded to a question about whether she would be proud regardless of whether Cyprus ranks high on the scoreboard, saying: “Our goal, as I’ve stated before, is to make our Cyprus proud by presenting a professional show and a participation worthy of our flag, which will be seen by 200 million viewers. That is our primary focus, although, of course, like everyone else, we compete for the best possible position.”
