The Deputy Ministry of Tourism is dissatisfied with the proposals it has received after opening tenders for the holiday Mediterranean island’s new image, Phileleftheros reports.
That’s why it plans to open new tenders, according to an announcement by the Deputy Ministry which also said the evaluation committee terminated the competition that had opened in March 2019.
The Deputy Ministry wanted to present a new brand name for Cyprus with a fresh logo, photos and colours at the Berlin 2020 tourism exhibition next month.
The goal of re-branding Cyprus was to bring to light the island’s unique selling points.
According to the tender document, the contract provided for a designated financial operator to provide services for the creation of a competitive brand for Cyprus and its application to all marketing activities of the Deputy Ministry.
In particular, the contractor would be responsible for the creation and preparation of all the necessary creative materials for the implementation of the new brand. As well as for the design and production of the creative material for all the advertising and commercial activities of the Deputy Ministry.
The contractor should have been able to submit creative proposals in different languages that meet the specific needs of each country.
