Three repatriation flights today

There will be three repatriation flights to Larnaca Airport today, one from Crete and two from the UK.

CNA reports that a flight is due from Heraklion at 14.45, one from Birmingham at 18.50 and one from London at 20.50.

Transport Minister Yiannis Karousos said that a repatriation programme has been drawn up with daily flights up until April 30 for Cypriots and legal residents based on a priorities list.

These are people classified as vulnerable, students in foundation courses and their first year at university living in student halls and other students.

All will undergo a coronavirus test and be quarantined in state facilities for 14 days.

The government aims to repatriate about 2000 people every fortnight, in line with quarantine facilities.
