Three more satellite casinos by end of 2018

Three satellite casinos are expected to launch operations in December — one each in Nicosia, Larnaca and Paphos, while that in the free Famagusta area should be up and running before the summer of 2019, Phileleftheros reported on Friday.

It said that Melco’s Cyprus Casinos (C2), which opened a temporary casino in Limassol in June pending the construction of an integrated casino resort, has applied for a town planning permit to operate a satellite casino in Ayia Napa.

It is expected to be housed in new facilities to be created at the Faros Hotel Ayia Napa. The Nicosia satellite casino — the biggest of the satellite casinos — will open in Engomi. It will have 50 gaming machines and five gaming tables. The other satellite casinos will have only gaming machines. In Larnaca, it will operate at the airport and in Paphos near the town’s municipal parking.

Meanwhile,  Melco group, the company behind City of Dreams Mediterranean, Europe’s first integrated casino resort, has announced new job openings for staff recruitment at the satellite casinos – Cyprus Casinos (C2) in Nicosia, Larnaca and Paphos.

Approximately 200 new positions will open up whilst currently, more than 600 people are employed by Melco at C2, with the vast majority of those being Cypriot citizens. At a later stage, new job openings will be announced regarding the satellite casino in Ayia Napa.

Victoria Michaelidou, VP Human Resources of Melco in Cyprus, said: “Melco’s philosophy is to ‘Hire on attitude, image and potential and to train on skills’, we are looking for talents from the market to fill up the new positions. The available positions are mainly for dealers, slot attendants and cashiers, and successful candidates will go through specialised training.” she explained.

In addition, “Cyprus Casinos C2”, the first licensed casino in the Republic of Cyprus, has launched its official website. Available in English and Greek, it can be accessed at www.cypruscasinos.com. Amongst others, online visitors may explore the games available at C2 along with instructions on how to play and be educated on Melco’s Responsible Gaming policies as well as locate any job openings at C2. C2 has also launched a Facebook page www.facebook.com/pg/C2.CyprusCasinos and an Instagram account www.instagram.com/cyprus_casinos.

Furthermore, C2 also brings the highly acclaimed Cyprus landmark – Columbia restaurants to its guests with the Columbia Bistro, offering a specially crafted menu for C2.  From irresistible appetisers to local favourites to Sushi to the signature steak sandwich, Columbia Bistro offers a wide range sumptuous delicacies to please guest’s taste buds. Columbia Bistro also hosts a special Ladies Thursday weekly as well as an expansive C2 Rewards Buffet free to members every Wednesday.

Located at 271 Franklin Roosevelt Avenue in Zakaki, Limassol, Cyprus Casinos C2 operates not only in accordance with Cyprus Legislation and Regulations, but also follows Melco’s industry-leading professional standards which focus on Responsible Gaming.
