Japanese Movie Screening 2022 in Nicosia (four dates in November)

The Embassy of Japan in Cyprus is once again organizing a series of film screenings in Nicosia in November 2022. The venue for all 4 movies is the Cultural Center at the European University in Engomi.

 The schedule is as follows:

1.      After the Sunset (Yuuhi no ato) – November 8

2.      We Make Antiques! (Uso Happyaku) – November 15

3.      Nosari: Impermanent Eternity (Nosari no Shima) – November 22

4.      AWAKE – November 29

All movies have English subtitles. For all nights, doors open at 19:00 and screenings starts at 19:30. No reservation is required.

Admission is free for all.

The films are courtesy of the Japan Foundation. To cultivate friendship and ties between Japan and the world, the Japan Foundation creates global opportunities to foster friendship, trust, and mutual understanding through culture, language, and dialogue.

The Japan Foundation was established in October 1972 as a special legal entity supervised by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. In October 2003, it was reorganized as an incorporated administrative agency. Based on a government endowment of 78 billion yen, the activities of the Japan Foundation are financed by annual government subsidies, investment revenue, and donations from the private sector.

Established in 2018, the Embassy of Japan in Cyprus unending mission is to function as a bridge introducing Japanese Culture to the people of Cyprus through events, educational programs, and grant programs. The year 2022 marks 60 years of Diplomatic Relations between Japan and Cyprus, for which the Embassy will be holding a range of events.
