2nd W.I.P. Arts and Technology festival by CYENS Centre of Excellence in Nicosia

At its 2nd W.I.P. Arts and Technology festival to be held in the Walled City of Nicosia, from November 11 to 23, CYENS Centre of Excellence for Interactive Media, Smart Systems and Emerging Technologies conducts series οφ curated exhibitions, screenings, participatory installations, workshops, seminars, and live music.

The festival introduces emerging creative talents among current Cypriot and international artists and researchers working within technology-driven and media art sectors.

The festival is planned by young domestic curators and is jointly organised and managed by the two research groups at CYENS Centre of Excellence, ITICA and MuseumLab and the Thinker Maker Space of CYENS Centre of Excellence.

The festival presents some superb examples of Media Art, including digital art, AI-driven installations, application Virtual Reality and Augmented Reality software, and interactive games, as well as 3D animation employing cutting-edge technology and contemporary creative environments. W.I.P host works from local and international universities, studios, and individual artists, including projects developed within the CYENS Centre of Excellence.

Dr Olga Shvarova, the Chief Innovation Officer of CYENS Centre of Excellence said: “W.I.P. provides a platform to the general public for appreciation of new media as well a reference point for scientists and creative professionals in the region for new media practices and new forms of expression.”
