CVAR is hosting a lecture by Dr Antonis Hadjikyriacou, Teaching Fellow in Ottoman History at Panteion University, Athens and Affiliated Scholar at the Center for Spatial and Textual Analysis at Stanford University.
Having earned his PhD from SOAS, University of London in 2011, he has held teaching and research positions at Princeton University, SOAS, Boğaziçi University, the University of Crete, and the University of Cyprus.
He is editor of ‘Islands of the Ottoman Empire’ (Princeton, 2018; also appeared as a special issue of Princeton Papers 18, 2017) and co-editor of ‘In Quest of the Ottoman Early Modern’, special issue of Journal of the Ottoman and Turkish Studies Association 7:1 (2020, with Virginia Aksan and Boğaç Ergene). He has published widely in English, Turkish and Greek on the social, economic, environmental and spatial history of Ottoman Cyprus and the Mediterranean World.
