Testing continues under the control program of 10,000 workers who were reactivated during the second and third phases of the strategy for the gradual lifting of restrictions and the program will continue until August 12th a Ministry of Health announcement said.
It’s noted that since the cases detected during the last weeks were identified in places whose employees have the right to participate in the program, these people are once more urged to make use of the program and schedule appointments for sampling.
The program is aimed at employees in public service positions in establishments such as Shopping Centres, Department Stores, Hotels and Tourist Accommodations, Indoor Catering Services and Businesses active in the field of shipping.
So far, approximately 7,000 laboratory tests have been carried out, and appointments for sampling are still ongoing.
It is emphasized that the responsibility for arranging appointments lies with each employee personally and not the business managers, while the responsibility for arranging appointments and sampling lies with the laboratory that undertook the contract.
As reported, after the detection of cases in restaurants and other businesses in recent weeks, employees of facilities of the above categories, especially in the District of Limassol, are urged to arrange appointments for sampling.
It is noted that despite the fact that participation is voluntary, the utilization of the program by employees contributes to the effort to control and manage the pandemic in the community through the applied practice of testing the population in our country since the beginning of the pandemic which led in the very good epidemiological picture of our country.
