Museums you can ‘visit’ online

Museums around the world encourage the public to see their collections online among lockdown measures for Covid-19.

The Louvre Museum using virtual reality invites us to discover ‘Mona Lisa Beyond the Glass’ and go on a virtual tour of its collection available via its website.

The British Museum presents a virtual collection of its exhibits from Oceania depicting various aspect of human life like conflict, commerce and religion.

At the Acropolis Museum, the public can participate in the event “Ancient colours” through the digital game “Colour the Peplos Kore” and can also discover the goddess Athena through the digital app ‘Athena, Goddess of the Acropolis‘ and also see a virtual representation of the Parthenon Frieze.

In Cyprus, Leventis Gallery has launched the programme “I stay home – I stay with art” that will be available until May 3, 2020, comprising a series of events on Facebook and Instagram aimed to get the public acquainted with its collections.
