You can now observe from home the week-by-week movements of 105 bird species in near-real-time through the EuroBirdPortal (EBP), as recorded by thousands of birdwatchers across Europe.
According to BirdLife Cyprus, “this unprecedented development is a landmark in the mobilization of citizen science data.”
The EBP is a project of the EBCC developed through a partnership that currently comprises 81 institutions from 29 different countries.
According to EBP, the online data-gathering portals run by the EBP partners collect c. 40 million bird records every year from more than 100,000 active observers.
