Weak low pressure is affecting the area while from Wednesday, a low pressure system centered on the Aegean is expected to affect the weather in Cyprus.
Tuesday will be partly cloudy and at intervals there will be isolated light showers. Temperatures will rise to 18 C inland and on the coast and 9 C in the higher mountains.
Tonight will be mainly cloudy and local showers are forecast, with the possibility of snowfall or sleet in the higher mountains. Temperatures will fall to 5 C inland, around 10 C on the coast and 3 C in the mountains.
Wednesday will be mainly cloudy and local showers are forecast with the possibility of snowfall or sleet in the higher mountains. Temperatures will remain at the same levels which are above average for the time of year.
Thursday and Friday will be mainly cloudy with scattered showers and isolated thunderstorms. Snowfall is expected in the higher mountains while on Friday there may be snowfall in the lower mountainous areas. There maybe very strong winds at intervals.
Temperatures will edge down to a little below the seasonal average.
