Former president Demetris Christofias remains in critical condition in the intensive care unit of Nicosia Hospital, but there are signs of slight improvement in his condition, the Health Ministry said on Friday.
The former president, and former general secretary of Akel, was hospitalised on Saturday with respiratory problems and then moved into the ICU on Monday. He has been on a mechanical ventilator since Tuesday evening while an Israeli expert has been consulted regarding his treatment.
In a communique issued on Friday, the Health Ministry said that the team of doctors who reviewed the former president’s condition this morning had found a slight improvement, but he remains in critical condition.
Health Minister Constantinos Ioannou is being kept updated, the communique added.
