Second soldier in Cyprus with suspicious coronavirus symptoms

Two days after a Greek soldier based in Cyprus was tested negative to coronavirus, a second soldier – this time a Cypriot – has been admitted to Nicosia Hospital with suspicious symptoms.

This is what the Health Ministry said on Sunday, adding that the Cypriot soldier who serves at Elias Papakyriakou camp in Athalassa had recently travelled to Greece.

And that the camp is now in quarantine till Monday when the test results will be completed.

At the same time, the Ministry said all necessary measures have been taken at the camp and that the other soldiers serving there will not be granted exit permits.

As for those who are off duty, they will not have to return to the camp until the results are announced.
