The appointment of school counselors at two public junior schools in Cyprus is a new pilot institution to come in effect this year with the start of the new academic year in September.
This is what Philenews reported on Monday, adding that the institution will be introduced and evaluated so as to determine if it should be applied on a wider scale.
This institution is part of a list of innovations that will be implemented this year by the Ministry of Education in Primary Education.
Its goal is to support students on issues not included in the educational curriculum. Such as to support students so that they can effectively deal with personal, family and social issues bothering them.
In particular, school counselors are expected to provide counseling to students but also to their parents and guardians.
